Mark Johnson

Partner & Non-executive Director

Mark is the non-executive director of Jackaroo Property. He has also held the position of Executive Director of Jackaroo Paper since founding it in 1985. Both Jackaroo Paper and Jackaroo Property operate out of the Sydney headquarters. 

 

Mark spent several years in corporate banking before establishing one of Australia's first paper recycling businesses, which was sold to a public company in 1995. He then established Jackaroo Paper, which has seen him travel extensively to paper mills throughout the world, developing close relationships with senior management. As such, Mark has over 30 years of experience in the paper industry, spanning global markets. In 2006 he partnered with Darren and other international partners to found Jackaroo Property, which has since grown into a large, diverse portfolio of profitable investments across Australia and New Zealand. 

Mark holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland’s University of Technology.

Darren McMullen

Partner & Managing Director

Darren is the Managing Director and co-founded Jackaroo Property in 2006. He is actively involved in the business on a daily basis and oversees and approves all acquisitions, development management, leasing, investor reporting and exit strategies.

Throughout his 36 years in banking and finance he has held senior management positions with both Barclays Bank Australia Ltd and St George Bank Limited. He has direct experience in the delivery aspect of retail, residential and mixed use projects, giving a unique insight into the vagaries of development risk. 

Darren holds a Bachelor of Business Management from Queensland University of Technology. He brings a strict discipline of project management methodology to the running of both the business and the transactions they invest in.

Fritz L. Duda

Partner

Fritz L. Duda is a founding partner at Jackaroo Property. He is a vastly experienced real estate entrepreneur who also prides himself on being of good service to the community through business and philanthropic activities.

He is the founder and owner of the Fritz Duda Company, a privately held real estate development and investment firm with offices in Dallas, Newport Beach, and Reno. Fritz has served on the boards of many private and public companies and was a founding investor and director of HMI Acquisitions and, subsequently, The Vons Companies, Inc. from 1985 to 1997. He served on the University of Notre Dame College of Engineering and Architecture Advisory Council from 1991 to 1997 and was named a Trustee of the University in 1997.  He has served as Chair of the Notre Dame Board of Trustees Campus Planning Committee and is Chair of the International Facilities Committee.  Fritz was a recipient of an honorary doctorate of laws degree from the University in 2009.  He is a Trustee of the University of California’s Hastings College of Law 1066 Foundation.​

Fritz is a graduate of the University of California ’s Hastings College of the Law, where he received his L.L.B. and J.D. degree in 1964 and is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association.
